PUMA Pro Star Indoor

  • ART.NO: 1858

Largely unknown, PUMA’s vintage Taiwanese-made Pro Star Indoor silhouette is an indoor trainer bestowed with an interesting upper and a super smooth outsole.

Clean, classic colorway – heavy on the whites – coating the wee bit techie upper, applying various leather layers that window the formstripe and create a blank canvas for the various perforation patterns decorating the sides, toe box, and heel. Ankle collar is quite unique too, considering how most PUMA’s look, which breaks away to semi-fuzzy inner lining. All this deliciously laid on top of a dual density midsole, some rubber mixed in for good measure, and then the grand finale: that super smooth outsole.

Although they look incredibly different (in almost every way) the lack of sole texture immediately reminded me of the West German made PUMA Te-Ku. It’s not often we see an indoor trainer with such a characteristic anatomy about it – complex upper structure with such simplicity hiding ‘below the fold’. And that nearly glowing white PUMA cat logo imprint directly in the bottom, fantastic.

Quite hard to come by these days, we’re lucky enough to have spotted and shot this pair in such pristine condition.
