BAPE x adidas Superstar 80s B-Sides Video

Tomoaki Nagao (aka Nigo) launched A Bathing Ape (BAPE) in 1993 in the backstreets of Japan and probably never knew to what heights the men’s, women’s, and children’s clothing label might climb. This year I. T Limited – a large clothing company from Hong Kong – has confirmed to purchase Nigo’s brand for a whopping $2.8 million.

The last time BAPE and adidas came together for a collaboration it was 2003, putting out a series of kicks including Superskates and Superstars. Eight years later they are throwing down again to release a Superstar 80 for the B-Sides project, part of their Fall / Winter 2011 line. It seems the infamous three stripes are dropping a Micropacer and a Top Ten, as well as the Bathing Ape Superstar 80s as the first releases in the B-Sides series.

The BAPE shelltoe – affectionately nicknamed the Super Ape Star – is done up with a suede body and dark blue stripes. The BAPE ape face logo appears on the heel. Move quick if you want these, as they are scheduled for an August 13th drop at No74 Berlin and No6 London and will definitely be sold in limited numbers.
