Yet another (the fifth so far for 2013) colorway for the recently retro’d adidas Torsion Integral S, this time designed by Otto and the Consortium team.
Not only were these part of an adidas Consortium pack (the so-called, ‘Down Under Up Over’ Pack, seemingly referring to Sneaker Freaker’s birthplace of Australia, aka the ‘Down Under’), but they were done so as the alternate half of Simon Wood’s (or better known as Woody, Editor in Chief of SF) first ever collaboration with the Trefoil tribe. It has been publicly stated that Woody designed the mint and grey pair himself, leaving the Consortium team to match the style and aesthetic on this sibling pair, which basically only applies an altered colorway, however ends up being a drastically different trainer somehow.
In fact, so different, that many (at least in the terrace classics crowd) have been skeptical about the minty SF-designed pair while rejoicing in the pinks, purples, and browns of the Consortium team’s take on the Torsion Integral comeback. What makes them so different though? To sum it up, the Consortium pair is just a bit more humble, a little less outspoken, and thus it’s no wonder that the likes of serious City Series searchers dig these a bit more.
Though whether you’re taken by one or the other (or both even) isn’t really the main debate, as how to go about chasing a pair typically tends to be the first question in comment we receive here at eatmoreshoes. With the SF-designed pair practically sold out everywhere, those who lean towards the Consortium design will be pleased to know that the hype over the mints has left many sizes of the pinks in stores and available for purchase. But don’t wait too long, after all, they are a pair of runners.
