The Connector is another beautiful vintage basketball shoe by adidas. Various different takes on the shoe have emerged over the years, an old favorite being the 1989 LA Lakers edition. Like a fine wine, the shoe has developed personality with age, remaining extremely comfortable and impressively sturdy.

The sneaker’s main features are its oversized tongue and heavy duty traction out soles. Its classic white and black colorway is reminiscent of the legendary adidas Superstar.

A minimalist leather upper is broken up by familiar, black side stripes. Shadowed by a sneaky dark gray lining, the stripes are complimented by the soft perforated upper heel and ankle sections, both well padded with specially-treated black nylon for support and comfort.

The sole is reinforced with small teeth on the sides for extra traction on the court, finished in a striking white and black pattern. Originally they come with off white laces though they are pictured here with black lace flips.

Contribute hype to eatmoreshoes

Here at eatmoreshoes we love our kicks, but we also open our minds to the greater cultural world that surrounds and engulfs the sneaker scenes around the world. Music, arts, events, films, performance, fashion, food, and people are at the heart of what is so good about lush leather and sweet suede strapped to your ankles with soft vintage laces, fats or thins, colored or bleached. We truly believe it’s the diversity of the scenes that make things stay exciting and keep up momentum year after year.

For this reason we see ‘hype’ as something that should cover more than just the most recent shoe releases or the most awaited collaborations between boutiques and brands. We think an album debut party or an avantgarde street performance could be ‘hype’. We think independent zine issues and self-built, DIY, underground gallery spaces are worthy of the title ‘hype’.

Welcome to eatmoreshoes, an online magazine specifically geared towards the adidas and PUMA brands.

The idea behind our magazine is relatively simple: we’re creating a site that showcases both the ‘history’ and the ‘hype’ of the worldwide sneaker culture without being elitist or trying to dictate to our readers.
