The debut of the adidas Originals x Star Wars collaboration in January 2010 has continued into a third season for Spring/Summer 2011. While the first two collections swayed between themes from the Force and the Dark Side, the latest has fully joined the Dark Side with inspiration primarily from stormtroopers, Darth Vader, and Emperor Palatine.

This “Coruscant” Skyline Mid replaces the traditional skyline of the shoe with the skyline of the galactic city Coruscant over which Darth Vader stretches his menacing hands. The illustration is imbued in sunset hues of red, orange, and yellow and completely covers the black ankle and heel panels. A rectangular label of the adidas branding, name of the shoe, and a section of the Coruscant skyline are imprinted on the tongue in a contrast of black and red.

The front section of the shoe is made of patent black leather, and the high tongue is made of black suede. The shoe is set on a split orange and black outsole with linear and geometric grooves on the bottom for maximum traction. Other details include the adidas trefoil logo next to the heel and red trim on the top parts of the shoe and the sides of the toes. The colorway and shape of the Coruscant closely resemble that of the original 1988 Skyline Mid in red and black.

The geek-chic shoe comes with black laces and, like all shoes from the previous adidas x Star Wars collections, is packaged in a plastic case with Star Wars themed cardboard backing to resemble collectibles. The Coruscant is a limited edition release and available at select stores only.
