In 2007, Crooked Tongues threw a special August 19th celebration BBQ in Bangkok, Thailand, the result of which was this collaboration with adidas. They’ve coined this shoe the ‘Bangkok’, communicated through the elephant on the tongue, as well as faux-elephant treatment on the stripes.

With only 300 pairs made, these shoes are ultra-exclusive, each pair coming in their own classy silk bag, with 2 extra pairs of metal-tipped laces. As well as the shoe’s aesthetic prowess, equal amounts of attention went into its materials; nubuck on the upper, with red suede on the lower side panels as well as inside the shoe.

Perforated leather throughout the entire shoe make it breathable and comfortable, with the Crooked Tongues mantra, “Show love and drop knowledge”, written in Thai down the heel panel. Much more than a one-off, this shoe resonates with older adidas shoes. The collaboration is reinforced in this shoe’s design, finishing with the gold Crooked Tongues lettering, on the shoe’s side.

Contribute hype to eatmoreshoes

Here at eatmoreshoes we love our kicks, but we also open our minds to the greater cultural world that surrounds and engulfs the sneaker scenes around the world. Music, arts, events, films, performance, fashion, food, and people are at the heart of what is so good about lush leather and sweet suede strapped to your ankles with soft vintage laces, fats or thins, colored or bleached. We truly believe it’s the diversity of the scenes that make things stay exciting and keep up momentum year after year.

For this reason we see ‘hype’ as something that should cover more than just the most recent shoe releases or the most awaited collaborations between boutiques and brands. We think an album debut party or an avantgarde street performance could be ‘hype’. We think independent zine issues and self-built, DIY, underground gallery spaces are worthy of the title ‘hype’.

Welcome to eatmoreshoes, an online magazine specifically geared towards the adidas and PUMA brands.

The idea behind our magazine is relatively simple: we’re creating a site that showcases both the ‘history’ and the ‘hype’ of the worldwide sneaker culture without being elitist or trying to dictate to our readers.
