New York – a universally recognized, world renowned city, that’s unashamedly infamous, and home to some of the most prolific hip-hop artists, street wear labels, and skate collectives around.

Needless to say, these factors make it a point of inspiration for many shoe companies, and once again this dense and bustling metropolis makes its way into the sneaker scene through adidas’ Superstar 35th Anniversary Collection. Release number twenty five, part of the 35th Anniversary City Series, is the ‘New York City’ Superstar 2.

The color scheme reflects the colors of the New York Knicks basketball team. An all-white leather upper is contrasted nicely with the bright orange heel patch and dark, navy blue outsole which has lighter blue stitching and a thin white tread along the bottom.

All three side stripes are also in white, with the names of the city’s most well-known boroughs embossed diagonally across them. The outer side panel features a gold and blue “I [trefoil] NY” embossed near the back, and the heel strip depicts an apple-shaped American flag. The shoes come with white and orange laces and a typical 35th Anniversary lace jewel; gold with a ‘royal’ blue, embossed trefoil.
