The culture and life we witness in a foreign country can be a unique and memorable experience, one that affects us for the rest of our life. In 2006 adidas put out a City Series of releases based on cities around the world to show all the varying colors, forms, and images that are attributed to many famous places.

Jamaica’s capitol, Kingston, inspired the design for this track top. The all black cotton and polyester jacket depicts the Jamaican flag with large yellow bands forming an x-shape across the front, accompanied by two large green triangles, one on either side.

The breasts of the jacket are embroidered with the adidas trefoil and the letters ‘K’ and ‘J’ to stand for Kingston, Jamaica, in yellow and green. The same two colors line the sleeves in the expected three stripe formation.

Despite the stark, innovative design of the front of the jacket, it’s the back that is the true gem of the release. A large hand drawn illustration shows two characters lounging against a Jamaican backdrop, done with green, orange, and yellow colors. The word ‘KINGSTON’ is embroidered across the top in thick black and yellow lettering.

Adidas also released a pair of Halfshell Lo’s that match the track top perfectly.
