Tokyo’s well-known sneaker store atmos has once again collaborated with adidas Originals on a release for Fall 2011. By now both companies have a reputation for glow-in-the-dark snakeskin and this will be the fourth in a series of Superstar 80s, aptly nicknamed “G-SNK IV” (meaning glow-in-the-dark snakeskin number four).

This time they’ve released the most simple, classic colorway made of an all-white, snakeskin upper with black stripes and heel patch. Of course, the main feature is the glow-in-the-dark snakeskin, shining a bright green when worn in low-light settings. The kicks are made complete with an off-white vintage style outsole and the infamous Superstar 80s shelltoe, and are packaged with both white and black laces.

The Superstar 80s G-SNK IV was a Tokyo-only exclusive and available from atmos online for those who did not live within Japan. However the shoe was sold out quickly just as the previous four versions were, and it’s destined to be found for high prices on eBay and other online auctions and collector forums.

Contribute hype to eatmoreshoes

Here at eatmoreshoes we love our kicks, but we also open our minds to the greater cultural world that surrounds and engulfs the sneaker scenes around the world. Music, arts, events, films, performance, fashion, food, and people are at the heart of what is so good about lush leather and sweet suede strapped to your ankles with soft vintage laces, fats or thins, colored or bleached. We truly believe it’s the diversity of the scenes that make things stay exciting and keep up momentum year after year.

For this reason we see ‘hype’ as something that should cover more than just the most recent shoe releases or the most awaited collaborations between boutiques and brands. We think an album debut party or an avantgarde street performance could be ‘hype’. We think independent zine issues and self-built, DIY, underground gallery spaces are worthy of the title ‘hype’.

Welcome to eatmoreshoes, an online magazine specifically geared towards the adidas and PUMA brands.

The idea behind our magazine is relatively simple: we’re creating a site that showcases both the ‘history’ and the ‘hype’ of the worldwide sneaker culture without being elitist or trying to dictate to our readers.
