The adidas Malmö was re-released in 2011 as a global exclusive to the UK-based Size? shoe store. The silhouette was originally released during the late ’70s and early ’80s as part of the adidas Originals City Series, which included a whole slew of models such as the Athen, Berlin, Dublin, London, Munchen, New York, Paris, Stockholm, Zurich, and many more.
This remake stays true to the original colorway – inspired by Sweden’s national colors – made of a rough mustard yellow suede upper with royal blue accents. It features a reinforced toe patch and perforated lacestays. The side stripes, puffy padded tongue, ankle trim, and particularly thin heel patch are done in royal blue leather. Held together with yellow stitching around the heel sides and midsole area, the only branding on this trainer is the gold “Malmö” text running along the third side stripe and the white adidas trefoil logo on the tongue.
The shoes come with rounded royal blue laces and feature a triple textured gum outsole completed with waffle grip cups and the adidas trefoil on the bottom.
