The adidas Olympia, as known as the Training ’72, is a low cut shoe with a reinforced toe, designed for athletic use. The model was originally released in the 1970′s, and sometimes referred to as the Olympiade. It was designed to be a training shoe for the Olympic games in Munich, Germany, in 1972.

This 2008 re-release of the adidas Olympia is officially called the Training ’72, however the original name ‘Olympia’ still stands in gold lettering underneath the adidas branding – written vintage-style, with a rectangular border – on the side of the shoe. The brown upper is contrasted with black stripes, tongue tag, and heel patch. Ventilation holes pepper the front of the upper and are broken only by the side stripes and reinforced toe patch. The lacestays are perforated and the shoe’s laces match the off-white outsole.
