adidas Originals Consortium Tabula Rasa Launch Party

On Thursday the 24th of November, adidas and Moniker Projects organized an event for sneakerheads and fans of the three stripe brand to preview the new adidas Consortium collection. The adidas Consortium line originally started in 2005 and continued to release a selection of premium products until mid 2010 when the line was deemed finished. However a year later Daniel Bauer and Christian Otto from adidas Originals decided to bring the line back and to give it a fresh start.

The new collection is called “Tabula Rasa” which means clean slate in Latin, the title is easily understood once you’ve seen the collection as the use of raw leather, suede, nubuck and mesh have been used throughout the product with each material being custom tanned to keep the same shade of “vapour white” throughout the shoe. The collection consists of 5 models; Decade, Pro-shell, Baltic cup, match play and zx500.

The event was hosted at the infamous adidas No6 concept store down Newburgh street in central London, where the cobbled street quickly filled up with people and became a hotspot for the night. The collection became a conversation starter between many and opinions seemed to be more positive than negative, with only a few questioning the practicality of the shoes. The over-all vibe of the night was great and new and familiar faces could be found chilling out in and around the store showing their love for the brand.

All 5 models became available to purchase through select Consortium stockists on the 26th of November 2011, this of course includes adidas No6 in London as well as No74 in Berlin.
