adidas David Beckham: Melbourne, Austrailia

David Beckham, the English association footballer, has done many collaborations with adidas in the past and thus it’s of no surprise when the sneaker world hears both names in the same context. Recently Beckham made a trip to Australia, organized by adidas, where he showed up as a surprise guest to the students of Melbourne University High. adidas Australia organized an amazing surprise for students of Melbourne University High by bringing them the ultimate grass roots football clinic…with surprise guest, David Beckham.

Completely unaware of the surprise about to unfold, students gathered in the school hall to meet local Melbourne Victory Football players, when much to their astonishment, David Beckham casually strolled in. The surprise didn’t stop there with Beckham presenting selected footballers with a pair of adizero f50 boots and our revolutionary new product, the miCoach Speed_Cell. Following some questions from the students, David and the Melbourne Victory players led the team outside to a special football clinic with crowds of media looking on.

Contribute hype to eatmoreshoes

Here at eatmoreshoes we love our kicks, but we also open our minds to the greater cultural world that surrounds and engulfs the sneaker scenes around the world. Music, arts, events, films, performance, fashion, food, and people are at the heart of what is so good about lush leather and sweet suede strapped to your ankles with soft vintage laces, fats or thins, colored or bleached. We truly believe it’s the diversity of the scenes that make things stay exciting and keep up momentum year after year.

For this reason we see ‘hype’ as something that should cover more than just the most recent shoe releases or the most awaited collaborations between boutiques and brands. We think an album debut party or an avantgarde street performance could be ‘hype’. We think independent zine issues and self-built, DIY, underground gallery spaces are worthy of the title ‘hype’.

Welcome to eatmoreshoes, an online magazine specifically geared towards the adidas and PUMA brands.

The idea behind our magazine is relatively simple: we’re creating a site that showcases both the ‘history’ and the ‘hype’ of the worldwide sneaker culture without being elitist or trying to dictate to our readers.
