On November 11th, 2011, adidas Originals dropped the “My adidas” 25th Anniversary Pack which included a Superstar 80s to tribute the hip hop legends RUN DMC. It’s been twenty five years since their track dropped in 1986 that made the Pro Model and Superstar so iconic, and adidas is still paying homeage to the innovative musicians by releasing these limited edition shelltoes.

With only 1,986 pairs released people were lining up early to make sure they copped one of these sweet 80s. The shoe respects the traditional colorway of the past, done in a classic white leather upper with black stripes stitched to an off white 80s outsole. The difference is in the details: 3M side stripes, “1986″ side embroidery, “JMJ” embossed in white and black on the 3M heel patch, RUN DMC branding on both the front and back of the tongue as well as the insole, and last, but not least, the dookie chain lace jewel.

Sold in a specialty RUN DMC black and white box, the kicks come packaged with white, black, and red vintage-style laces. Full on collectors didn’t stop just with the sneaks, but picked up the whole pack including a “My adidas” Tracksuit and T-Shirt.
