- MODEL: PUMA PANAMA
- MADE IN: YUGOSLAVIA
PUMA is well-known for their simple, sleek silhouettes, normally comprised of sweet suede strips or soft leather layers on a firm, hard, gum outsole made for long-term use and attractive, comfortable, casual wear. The PUMA Panama is no exception to the rule, albeit these vintage trainers run along a well-gripped waffle cup outsole with an up-turned heel for more speed and sharper turns.
The navy blue upper is classically contrasted by white stripes, laces, and the PUMA cat logo on the upper heel spot. Both the heel and toe box are reinforced with extra layers of dark blue suede leather, the latter covered in lower layer of rubber protection. As is typical for vintage trainers the model and brand name appear in gold print lettering on the outer side wall above the stripes.
Made in Yugoslavia, such a pair of PUMA Panama’s is hard to come by in modern days, and for those low cut trainer lovers out there, it’s certainly a shoe you’ll want to keep in your closet if you happen to stumble upon a pair in your size.
