adidas Torsion SP Hi

  • MODEL: ADIDAS TORSION SPECIAL HI
  • MADE IN: VIETNAM
  • MADE ON: --/10
  • ART.NO: G12447

In the Fall of 2010 adidas Originals dropped another remake of the Torsion Special Hi, previously seen in 2009 as part of the OT Tech series. The combination leather and mesh upper – built with a black, lead, and iron colorway – is brightened with orange and teal in the midsole, toe box, side walls, heel, tongue tag, laces, and Ghilly eyelets.

Besides the flashy use of neon these kicks sponsor a high ankle that is well padded for stability and warmth. Obvious by the name itself, the sole is implanted with the Torsion technology, allowing the forefoot and heel to move separately and increasing the flexibility of step. The lower heel is further protected by a stiff plastic molding, identical to that of the lower cut Torsion Special and similar to the ZX 8000 and 9000.

They’ve an interesting lacing system, including normal eyelets, followed by two lace holes in plastic tabs that extend from the bright orange side wall model nametag, and then lastly three Ghilly d-rings. Beneath the rounded teal laces lays a tongue that is stitched securely to the sides of the upper, up until it reachs the Ghilly rings, providing a more insulated and protecting area. The kicks come packaged in the typical adidas Originals royal blue shoe box, complete with an extra set of black laces.
