adidas Superstar 1

The adidas Superstar is an already classic silhouette, and the OG colorway presented in these Superstar 1′s only furthers that old school look.

These Indonesian-made Superstar 1′s show off a retro look that dropped in 2006. Whether you’re into collecting every single shell-toe that every existed, hunting down an OG colorway but can’t find it, or simply love a light colored trainer, than these are the kicks for you.

Still floating about if one was to look hard enough, the white, chalk, and metallic gold mixture is actually less common than one might think. In general the staple look of the Superstar is that of contrast, traditionally incorporating a light body with darker color details on the heel and side stripes, or the reversal of a dark body and brighter highlights. Even in the seemingly endless collabs and limited editions that have dropped, not so many (successful) releases have come from monochromatic and especially all-white designs.

Now, don’t get me wrong, there have certainly been some interesting monochromatic Supes for sale (even recently). But the all-white look is undeniably something special, and even more so it speaks loudly (in a quieted whisper) about the personality of those who choose to wear it. Something similar to that of the folks who lean toward a purchase of an all-white iPhone (or other mobile device). There’s an air of cleanliness, of class, and even a bit of arrogance.

Whatever it says, it’s a pretty straight forward and simple – yet brave – colorway and it’s one that we support for those that can rock it.
