adidas Oslo

  • MODEL: ADIDAS OSLO
  • SERIES: ADIDAS CITY SERIES CITY SERIES (EUROPEAN CITY SERIES)
  • MADE IN: YUGOSLAVIA

Another installment in the European City Series, the adidas Oslo pays respects to the capital of Norway. Oslo’s history is one of destruction and rebuilding, and the city has even been renamed twice before finally returning to its original and final title.

Considered a ‘global city’ it’s no wonder why adidas found it important enough to name a shoe after. Even today it continues to hold an important status, measured in 2011 to be the second most expensive city in the world after Tokyo. As well, based on it’s rapidly changing population – thanks to immigration and high birth rates – Oslo is known as the fastest growing city in Europe.

As for the shoe itself, it’s a low cut trainer like all the City Series releases. I personally find the colorway to be quite striking and definitely bold for how long ago the shoe was actually produced. Made in Yugoslavia there’s no doubt that this pair is quite old (likely 70s or 80s) and they can be considered quite hard to come by, especially if you’re after a deadstock or unused pair.
