The last in a bunch of 2012 Autumn remakes, these Superstar 80s bring us way back to the lace-less days of Run and his crew. An über classic colorway on an infamous trainer is simply the butter to any sole-fanatic’s bread.

For those that aren’t so privy, let’s juggle through the OG elements on display here. Gorgeous off-white creamy outsoles (which incidentally give the shoes a bit of an aged look), completed with some subtle surface texture, and then paired with matching shell toes. It’s important to understand that the shell toe is detailed differently for various Superstar versions, with the 80s showing off a more fine grain texture that many hardcore trainer heads tend to appreciate with enthusiasm.

As for the colorway; simple, straightforward, black details against a white base. We shouldn’t have to explain what’s so classic about that combination. Top it with a shimmering gold framed trefoil on the tongue and you’ve got a real retro winner.

But look a little closer and you’ll see the modern-day flare splashed against this throwback: softer side stripes (as opposed to the usual leather ones) that seemingly sneaked their way into the silhouette. Seriously, thank you adidas, for realizing that you’ve already put out some of the most innovative and iconic shoes possible, and instead of trying to reinvent the wheel, simply returning to those past treasures and adjusting them in modest (yet powerful) ways to achieve a truly successful series of Fall remakes.
