One of the most surprising choices by mastermind JAPAN for their last adidas Originals collection was the Country silhouette.

The Country OG is one of those models that one certainly doesn’t know off the top of one’s head unless one is particularly into trainers. They’re just not a household name, unlike the Gazelle or Samba or Campus.

But even so, they’ve really made their mark and reoccured so much in Trefoil history that we’ve seen a variety of variations over the years. New releases, retro (or ‘OG’) drops, upgrades such as the Lux (LX, and LX II) versions, limited edition Country Os, and even some high top or ripple sole incarnations as well.

Based on this wide range of releases it does actually make sense that mastermind JAPAN would pick it as one of their finale features, however it still came to us as a full-on surprise.

As with all the models in the pack, they’ve been given a mostly black makeup, featuring a punctured leather upper that might very well symbolize their skull and cross bones logo (with miniature crosses riddling its surface). Materials are quality, the extras are cool (some bone-shaped lace jewels), and the box is insanely sweet. All in all they’re a good way for mastermind JAPAN to go out with a bang.
