Stars Wars and adidas have collaborated on a series of franchise-inspired shoes, jackets, and accessories. One of which is a remake of the classic Conductor Hi silhouette. Nicknamed the ‘Super Death Star’ on the tongue, the shoe represents Darth Vader’s stormtroopers.
Their uniform’s mask and weaponry is depicted in a cartoon crest on the tongue, topped with a miniature, gold trefoil pin. The initials ‘DS’ are embroidered into the side of the heel in a red and black, high school sports team letter jacket style font.
The colorway matches their glossy white and black armor suits, with an upper made of shiny, patent black leather against a bright white toe box. The outer sole splits between white and black. A laser-etched bridge divides the toe box and tongue. A tie fighter is printed just above the toe box, with the text ’1977′, the year the first Star Wars filme (A New Hope) was made.
The insole is particularly comfortable; they feel almost as though they are corrugated, yet are quite soft. A black and white patch sewn to the ball of the insole proclaims both parties involved in the release.
The shoes come with black laces, which are white tipped and printed with the Star Wars branding. Like all second wave releases in the Stars Wars series these shoes come in an over-sized plastic case to mimic the packaging typically used to house collectible action figures. A cardboard backing keeps the shoes in place. It also features some extra graphics and previews of the other shoes in the series.
In the same series a hooded Stormtrooper track top was released that matches these almost as good as the Stormtrooper varsity jacket designed for them.
