Another beautiful colorway on a classic silhouette from adidas, this olive gold Superstar Vintage looks almost like a luxury release. The smooth, “dark olive” brown upper is matched nicely with the metallic gold side stripes and heel patch. The soft, vintage laces match the “sunshine” yellow tongue, shell toe, and outsole, completing the simple, yet striking appearance of these 2006 remakes.

Despite the high class taste they leave in my mouth I can’t help but admit they just don’t look right on my feet. I find the colorway to be brave and even a bit beautiful, though it’s a very specific style that I don’t see every sneaker lover falling in love with. I think the true Superstar heads will appreciate these much more than the common folk especially considering the outstanding materials used and the respect given to the shape, build, and details of its distant OG relative that it’s modeled after.

Overall it’s another one for the hit or miss department, though I would definitely still argue that it’s a win for adidas either way. If you ask me they aimed at a particular demographic and hit ‘em dead on.
