adidas Gazelle Indoor
- MODEL: ADIDAS GAZELLE INDOOR
- MADE IN: VIETNAM
- MADE ON: --/11
- ART.NO: G63197
The Gazelle silhouette has been trained in since the late 60s and its sequel – the Gazelle 2 – was initially launched in 1980 so it’s of little surprise to us over here at eatmoreshoes that adidas Originals would pull another banger from it’s archive for the Fall 2012 collection. Presented here in it’s more recent upgrade, the Gazelle Indoor takes the original idea of the OG model and modifies it a bit.
Firstly the dimpled tongue (similar to that of vintage trainers from the likes of the classic adidas Originals City Series) is surrounded by a gorgeous royal blue suede upper paired against black leather stripes. A bit darker and downplayed colorway then adidas normally tends to lean but definitely a successful one in our eyes, especially when one considers the impending time of its release, as trainer heads and casual consumers alike both slip off the bright summer shoes and push into something a bit more Autumn in nature.
Differences from the original Gazelle continue down the front where a wider, more forked toe patch is stitched in place. As well the stripes dive down into the translucent gum midsole, while it too has been modified with a slightly up curled bend in its rear. The outsole supports some funky traction patterning; trefoils and tentacle style suction cup marks dash across it in a pleasant grid.
Slated for an August release, the blue and black colorway won’t be alone, so if it isn’t to your tastes then fret not, we spotted two other colorways on the move as well: forest green and orange, both with black stripes. And there’s always an olive green and white striped adidas Originals Gazelle for those that are bigger fans of the OG over the upgrade or simply don’t dig the gum sole.
