Over the years PUMA’s had their fair share of ups and downs, and they’ve recently seemed to slump a bit in success, shadowed by the other brands, but can these XT1s mark a comeback for the cat company?

Over here at eatmoreshoes we’re so concerned with vintage that we can’t catch every retro release. Despite this fact, we do always have our ears to the ground (and our eyes on it too), watching what everyone is wearing from event to event. Whether it’s at the recent Solemart at the Mercedes Benz Niederlassung in Berlin or the Sneakerness show-down in Köln, we’re right in stride with each step of the scene.

And as of recent we’ve been ecstatic to spot the leaping cat company on our colleagues’ and comrades’ feet, because to be a hundred percent honest the PUMA pairs worn in public have gotten scarcer as of late, even with the wonderfully lush and completely on point releases from the Shadow Society.

But we feel all that has changed with the drop of the new XT1s and XT2s. Not only have they been the talk of the town, but everywhere we go runner lovers can be spotted wearing a pair, and a large majority of consumers couldn’t simply choose a single colorway to go home with, opting to purchase multiple pairs in a full spectrum of PUMA pride.

If it wasn’t the Shadow Society’s great retro rival help, or those funky Hypebeast joints and the elusive and expensively-resold Staple shoes, then it may very well be the XT models that put PUMA back on the map.

Contribute hype to eatmoreshoes

Here at eatmoreshoes we love our kicks, but we also open our minds to the greater cultural world that surrounds and engulfs the sneaker scenes around the world. Music, arts, events, films, performance, fashion, food, and people are at the heart of what is so good about lush leather and sweet suede strapped to your ankles with soft vintage laces, fats or thins, colored or bleached. We truly believe it’s the diversity of the scenes that make things stay exciting and keep up momentum year after year.

For this reason we see ‘hype’ as something that should cover more than just the most recent shoe releases or the most awaited collaborations between boutiques and brands. We think an album debut party or an avantgarde street performance could be ‘hype’. We think independent zine issues and self-built, DIY, underground gallery spaces are worthy of the title ‘hype’.

Welcome to eatmoreshoes, an online magazine specifically geared towards the adidas and PUMA brands.

The idea behind our magazine is relatively simple: we’re creating a site that showcases both the ‘history’ and the ‘hype’ of the worldwide sneaker culture without being elitist or trying to dictate to our readers. We cover various aspects of this culture by providing archives of adidas and PUMA shoes and clothing, hunting down and interviewing collectors, searching out the best stores we can find, and reporting on the hype.
